about

Hi, I'm Bill X.
A small studio. Serious products.

Twenty-something years of building things — from production systems to a DC power supply designed from a blank PCB. Now running a focused studio that ships across hardware, developer tools, and AI, out of Shanghai.

background

I wrote my first commercial program in 2001 — not as a hobby, but to sell it. That first ¥80 registration key taught me something I haven't unlearned: code only matters when it solves a real problem for a real person.

Over two decades I shipped production systems at scale, led engineering teams, and ran my own company. The startup didn't survive commercially. The judgment it built did.

Today I focus on building products I believe should exist in the world — whether that means writing Rust, designing a PCB, or wiring together an AI pipeline from scratch.

how we work

This is a small studio, not a solo act. There's a stable core of three: engineering and product direction on my end, with a dedicated product expert and a business expert alongside. For specific projects we bring in the right people from a wider network.

We're incorporated in China and handle international engagements case by case. No layers, no handoffs to account managers. When you work with us, you work with the people who built it.
